Acciona established its U.S. headquarters in Chicago, Illinois in 2007.

ACCIONA manages its U.S. business from the company's main office in Chicago. The office includes a 24/7 remote monitoring center dedicated to the maintenance of ACCIONA's North American renewable energy plants. 

ACCIONA owns and operates Nevada Solar One, a major milestone for concentrated solar power technology

Nevada Solar One is a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant that generates 64 MW of clean energy in the Nevada Desert. 

ACCIONA completed the Tampa Bay Desalination Plant in 2007.

The largest plant of its kind in the U.S., the Tampa Bay Delsalination plant can produce over 28 million gallons of clean water per day from seawater through reverse osmosis desalination. The plant can provide up to 10% of the region's drinking water. 

The Royal Jubilee Hospital Patient Care Centre is an example of how public-private partnerships can deliver social infrastructure, while integrating innovative, sustainable building practices for the betterment of the community.

The Royal Jubilee Hospital Patient Care in Victoria, BC is one of the largest LEED Gold-certified medical buildings in North America.

ACCIONA's 180 MW Tatanka Wind Farm began operation in 2008.

At the time it was constructed, the Tatanka Wind Farm was one of the country's largest wind energy projects. The project is located in North and South Dakota.  

ACCIONA completed construction of the Southeast Stoney Trail Highway 2010.

The project included nearly 16 miles of new, six-lane divided freeway in Alberta, Canada. ACCIONA employed innovative practices on the project to reduce the carbon footprint of the road construction and increase the sustainability of the new road infrastructure.

ACCIONA Windpower installed the first AW3000 turbines in the U.S. at the Pioneer Grove Wind Farm in Iowa.

The project utilized both conventional steel towers and ACCIONA's proprietary concrete tower technology. Since Pioneer Grove was completed in 2012 the company has expanded its wind turbine technology and construction experience.

ACCIONA was contracted to design, finance, build, operate and maintain the A30 Express, a 26-mile highway that relieves congestion through the city of Montreal.

 The project included the construction of over 30 bridges, including major spans across the St. Lawrence River. The project was completed in 2012 and ACCIONA will maintain the roadway for 31 years.

In 2015, ACCIONA completed construction of the South Canoe Wind Farm, the largest renewable energy project in Nova Scotia, Canada.

For this project, ACCIONA offered a full solution to the project owner that included wind turbine supply, construction services and long-term operations and maintenance.

In 2016, ACCIONA renewed its investments in the U.S. with the construction of the 93 MW San Roman Wind Farm in Texas.

The San Roman Wind Farm generates enough clean energy to power 30,000 homes. The project increases the company's U.S. wind power capacity to 721 MW.
