This event, now celebrating its 13th year, is the most important in the USA in the Public Private Partnership (P3) infrastructure sector. It brings together representatives from the leading infrastructure companies that operate in the US as well as investors and public officials from both state and federal administrations.
During the forum, Luis Palazzi took part in the panel entitled “State transportation P3s cruise to continual growth,” which examined the opportunities arising in the transport and water sectors.
The panelists focused on issues such as the incentives being proposed by the new Trump administration to attract private investment and the involvement of US States in infrastructure projects using the PPP format.
In 2016, the US became the largest market for greenfield and brownfield projects and refinancing agreements using PPP formats, worth an estimated $11 billion. This was the context in which members of the panel discussed how transport projects would be carried out under this format in this new political scenario and how this model could also be extended to other infrastructure projects.
