Transmission Lines for El Cortijo Wind Farm

ACCIONA began construction on the transmission line for El Cortijo wind farm in Tamaulipas in north-east Mexico. The plant, which has a total capacity of 168 MW, will be built by ACCIONA, and after commissioning the facility will generate electricity to provide for 350,000 homes in the area, while preventing 563,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year compared to coal-fired power plants.

ACCIONA  began this project upon completion of the El Cortijo electrical substation and will end it with the Reynosa Airport electrical substation. 28.8 km of overhead lines will be built to operate at a nominal tension of 400 kW and a frequency of 60 Hz.

The project will be performed in one phase and is expected to be completed by the end of November of this year.
